"We're just four kids who were lucky enough to find each other so we could start a band and have a creative outlet-something to plug-in to when all the other outlets are overcrowded. Captain Dingus is our music and our lyrics and our way of letting out angst and frustration and making people listen to us. Captain Dingus is part of who we all are."

A note from Bob
First, I apologize for the lateness of this message. It's so late, in fact, that I'm afraid anyone who might actually care has stopped checking the site for updates. I've been putting it off and thinking about what to write and wondering if I should even make a post. Nevertheless, anyone who still does care enough to check deserves an update.
For anyone who is not aware, the Captain is no more. To everyone who supported us, rocked out with us, bought our stuff or, hell, anyone who even recognizes the name, love us or hate us: Thanks for everything. You helped create one of the best experiences I've had, and if I could speak for any other band member, I'm sure they'd say the same.
So what happened? I don't really know how to explain it, or exactly how much should be explained. From my perspective, much of what's happened is due to personal issues affecting the band, and not necessarily problems with the band itself. Unfortunately, as you might imagine from the quote at the top of this page, personal issues and band issues were closely related.
I'm sure different people will tell you different things, but as far as I'm concerned the personal side should stay personal. As far as the band part is concerned, from my perspective and in the nicest terms possible, Dingus broke-up because the relationships and the communication among and between band members strained to the point that letting the Captain die became easier than forcing him to breathe. In all fairness I'm honestly not sure exactly when it ended--I can't give you a date or a time. But it's over, if you were still wondering. The last show was May 9 and the last canceled practice was in June.
So it goes.

Thanks to anyone who stayed at the loooong show on May 9 (it didn't get over until close to midnight). Photos coming soon. We have some of the coolest fans in the world. I dropped about a half dozen sticks--it was mayhem. Craziness.

Alright, so we didn't win, place or show at the battles of the bands. But we were the only band who left the stage with the crowd chanting its name ("Dingus! Dingus!"), and we were the only band with a crowd surfer (and we have a picture to prove it... alright, so we can't prove he was surfing while we played, but take our word for it), which totally rocks. Thanks to everyone who came to see the battle, thanks to the dingus-chanting crowd, and thanks to that rocking hot crowd surfer. Photos are up here. By the way, rumor has it that as your ghost takes flight will be interviewed on live radio next Sunday, May 11, at 10 PM on extreme essentials the show. Tune your dials to 102.3, accordingly. Now here's some other hot news:
